Swedish Soil

President and Sister Beckstrand on finally on Swedish Soil. They are very tired but they say it's so beautiful there.

We Can Fly

Emotions ran high yesterday as goodbyes were said and hugs were given. It was the hardest thing I think I have done so far in my life. To watch President and Sister Beckstrand walk through security and wave goodbye to us. It was pretty crazy getting them on the plane. Amber helped Dad tag all the bags and used her number in case of a problem. The airline didn't have tickets for them from Paris to Stockholm so they had to look that all up and they finally found them. Then as we got to the cars, Amber got a phone call from the airline and said one of the bags was not tagged at check-in to tell where the bag was headed. Amber told the man that it is going to Paris then to Stockholm. He said that is good because this is the only flight leaving for Paris this day. He then said to her that his Dad is from Meadow! Small world. Then I got a text from Dad saying they had to land in Minneapolis for a medical emergency. A passenger behind them was having a heart attack. Once the med team removed the man, they were able to proceed with their journey. Now just waiting to hear if they made it on to Sweden soil. They are 8 hours ahead of us as well.

We ALL LOVE you and know that there is great work to be done and that you can do this!!

Departure Day!!

It's time! President and Sister Beckstrand fly out this afternoon to start serving the Lord. Wow, didn't want to believe this was really happening but here it is. Sister Beckstrand called me this morning and started to cry when she heard my voice. I told her she was going to be ok. I am emotional over this as well. They are going to be fantastic! Everything here at home will be ok. It is just hard to have your parents gone. But what examples they are setting for all around them to serve the Lord. I will be posting a few pictures from the airport later today. Keep them in your prayers!

MTC Moments

President and Sister Beckstrand look so good in those name tags, don't they?? They loved every minute of the MTC, even though it was only for 4 days. They have met some eternal friends and made some eternal relationships in that short while. They had many spiritual experiences and tender moments that they will cherish. They met some of their missionaries and they fell in love with them. That is so great. That has made them anxious to get to Sweden to serve the Lord, the people, and the missionaries. They were very busy that they took pictures on the last day at the MTC, but at least they took some. They have been sent home until further instruction and awaiting on their Visas.

Waiting Game

Today is President Beckstrand's birthday!! He and Sister Beckstrand are finishing up at the MTC today. Nice present huh? But now it is a waiting game. They are to fly out this Friday, but they are missing something. A VISA!!! They along with 3 other couples have not received them yet. Everyone is praying and trying to pull strings and figure things out. Keep your fingers crossed and pray hard. Satan is working to keep them from moving the work forward.

A Spiritual Moment

President and Sister Beckstrand were set apart a few days ago by Elder Russell M. Nelson and Elder Hallstrom. It was such a spiritual moment for our entire family. We have such love for this gospel and we are extremely excited for President and Sister Beckstrand. They entered the M.T.C. in Provo, UT, this past weekend and are awaiting their flight in a few days.

Getting Ready!

President Beckstrand and I watched as are belongings were packed and shipped to Sweden. We couldn't believe how fast, careful, and efficient the movers were. We are excited for this new calling and adventure and to share it with the missionaries who are there.
